Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling martial art and combat sport that focuses on ground fighting and submission holds to control and defeat an opponent. At Migration, you'll learn to take down, control and submit people in a friendly, encouraging and challenging environment. We all work together to help each other grow.

Do I Need to Be in Shape Before Starting?

Not at all! Jiu-jitsu will help get you in shape. Our classes are designed for folks of any fitness or experience level, and we always encourage members to listen to their bodies, take breaks as needed, etc.

What If I'm Brand New and Unfamiliar with Jiu-Jitsu?

That's what we're here for! In every class we'll bring you along and make sure you understand what we're doing and why, to help build your understanding of the martial art as you go. Everyone who does jiu-jitsu remembers their first day on the mats, so don't be shy and ask plenty of questions!

What Should I Bring for my First Class?

A water bottle and some sandals are always great to have (we wear sandals when you're off the mats to help keep germs off the mats), and wear some good clothes to work out in.

What Ages are Suitable for Kids Classes?

Kids classes are intended for kids ages five and up. At 16 a kid would move into the adults program, but that transition can also happen a bit earlier for teens as necessary

Do You Offer Family Memberships?

Yes! We do have discounts available for families who have multiple members on one account. Reach out to us to see what a membership would look like for your family.

Can I Try a Class Before Signing Up?

Absolutely! In fact, we offer a free week-long trial. Just reach out and let us know when you'd like to get started!
